Project Overview:
Atelier ARBO, led by Architect Rinka, was commissioned to reimagine the interior design of the Nalanda School Library in Baroda with a vision to cultivate a vibrant, student-centered environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and independent learning.

Design Philosophy:
Rooted in Atelier ARBO’s commitment to human-centric and sustainable design, the library interiors are crafted as a dynamic learning space that transcends traditional notions of a library. The design emphasizes light, openness, and flexibility, encouraging students to explore, collaborate, and immerse themselves in reading.

Key Features:

• Spatial Zoning: The library is thoughtfully divided into zones catering to different age groups and learning modes—quiet reading corners, interactive zones, storytelling areas, and digital media access points.
• Material Palette: A warm and earthy palette—featuring natural wood, soft textiles, and pastel tones—creates an inviting and calming atmosphere conducive to concentration and relaxation.
• Furniture & Layout: Custom-designed, child-friendly furniture is arranged to be flexible and modular, allowing spaces to adapt for group sessions, quiet reading, or collaborative activities.
• Daylighting & Ambience: Large openings and skylights are used strategically to bring in ample natural light, reducing dependency on artificial lighting and enhancing overall wellbeing.
• Visual Identity: Graphic elements, playful signage, and curated artwork bring the space alive, reflecting the school’s values of curiosity and discovery.

The transformed library is not just a repository of books—it’s an active, engaging, and inclusive learning hub that inspires students daily. It aligns with Nalanda School's progressive educational ethos, turning the library into the heart of the campus.
